Get to know the books!

The first book in Andrea’s Coast Salish Tales series. Qwiwilh and Q’uleeqe learn that friendship and new beginnings are possible. They also learned that branches hanging over the water may not be the best place to play.

This story, written in the traditional Coast Salish style, includes words from the Hul’qumi’num language of the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, Canada. New Beginnings is a story inspired by the replacement of a much loved tree in the Oaklands area of Victoria.
